Energy retrofit

We turn the house you already own into a certified low-energy home.

Home retrofitted for year-round thermal comfort

Real
comfort, all year.

Thermal comfort

A poorly insulated home leaks heat through the façades, the roof and the joints. The result: sky-high bills, uneven temperatures and a heavy carbon footprint. The EnerPHit standard brings comfort back without stripping the building of its character.

Three grant levels

The grant percentage tracks the real energy improvement. The lower the building's heating and cooling demand, the more non-repayable funding you get. PAPIK Group models all three scenarios in the free assessment to guide the technical and financial call.

Frequently asked questions

Common questions about retrofit.

01

How much does it cost to retrofit my home to the EnerPHit standard?

The indicative cost ranges from 600 to 1,200 €/m² depending on the scope (envelope, roof, systems, certification). With a Next Generation EU grant it can drop to 200-500 €/m² net for the owner. PAPIK Group provides a detailed estimate in the free assessment.

02

Who can apply for the Next Generation EU grants?

Any owner or homeowners' association of an existing residential building can apply for the PRTR grants. There is no income limit.

03

Do I have to advance money for the works?

Not necessarily. PAPIK Group offers bridge financing: we cover the cost up front and you settle once the grant reaches your account. Interest-free.

04

How long does the paperwork process take?

Application to resolution: 3–6 months. Total process from the first meeting to the final certification: 10–18 months.

05

Do I need my own architect?

No. PAPIK Group provides the complete technical team (architect, industrial engineer, energy certification specialist). If you already have a trusted architect, we collaborate with them at no additional cost.

06

Is my building too old?

The older it is, the bigger the improvement and the larger the grant. There's no age limit. The building must be residential and built before 2007. Homes from the 1960s–80s see the best savings.

07

Can a home be retrofitted without moving out?

It depends on the scope. Façade and roof work happens while you stay put (just some noise during working hours). A full interior retrofit means moving out for 4–8 weeks. We plan it all in the assessment.

08

What real savings can I expect?

1970s buildings that move up to A typically reduce heating consumption by 75–90%. Partial retrofit: 40–60%. PAPIK Group always presents detailed estimates with temperatures, bills and projected ROI.

09

Does my homeowners' association need unanimity?

No. For energy improvement works, Spanish condominium law (Ley de Propiedad Horizontal) allows approval with the favourable vote of one third of the owners. PAPIK Group advises the board and prepares the technical documentation for the vote.

10

What happens if the grant is not finally approved?

PAPIK Group won't start the works until alternative financing is in place (green bank, ICO, your own capital). Nothing begins without a confirmed way to pay. And if the grant never comes through, we scale the project to fit your real budget.
