The economic newspaper El Economista, with the support of Foment del Treball, honours PAPIK Group for its innovation in building certified Passivhaus passive houses.
PAPIK Group, a Sant Cugat company and a pioneer in building certified Passivhaus passive houses, has received the Business Excellence award in the construction innovation category. The recognition consolidates the company's track record within a sector, high energy efficiency, that is going through a clear phase of growth.
The distinction, led by the economic newspaper El Economista and supported by Foment del Treball, took place on Wednesday 30 October in the evening at the employers' association headquarters. The ceremony honoured 21 companies from very different sectors, from information security to construction, all of them noted for their constant innovation and their commitment to the growth of their industry.
Television presenter Elsa Anka hosted the evening, accompanied by economist José María Gay de Liébana, who presented the awards. The opening speech was given by Pablo Cano, chief executive of Editorial Ecoprensa, and the closing address was delivered by Josep Sánchez Llibre, president of Foment del Treball, who praised the group of award-winning companies.
In his acceptance speech, Papik Fisas, manager of PAPIK Group, recalled that the current climate emergency calls for pioneering solutions, able to break away from old patterns. One example of this approach is houses capable of generating more energy than they consume, a model the company already builds with the Eskimohaus system.
The award adds to other recent milestones that confirm PAPIK Group's position as a benchmark in the sector, among them the inauguration of the first certified Passivhaus house in Sant Cugat del Vallès, a project in which the town's mayor expressed interest in this kind of high-efficiency construction.
This institutional recognition accompanies a way of building oriented towards comfort, health and minimal energy consumption, the very principles that guide every Passivhaus certification project.
Innovation in construction is not an end in itself, but the path to making possible, today, the houses that tomorrow's climate context will demand.
