On Saturday 19 March, carpenters' day, PAPIK Group opens the doors of the first Passivhaus home in Llinars del Vallès while it is still under construction, with a technical visit, an open talk and an inaugural event attended by Mayor Martí Pujol.
Few occasions explain a Passivhaus home better than seeing it while it goes up. On Saturday 19 March, coinciding with carpenters' day, PAPIK Group opens the doors at 11 a.m. of the first home in Llinars del Vallès certified to the Passivhaus standard, still under construction. The event allows visitors to walk through the home from the inside and to see, on the actual building site, what it means to live without an energy mortgage, with steady comfort and high efficiency, in a build made with sustainable, high-quality materials.
The visit comes with a talk designed to answer the questions this kind of construction tends to raise. The points covered are specific:
Being able to observe the example during construction, rather than once finished, makes it easier to understand the building layers and the decisions that explain the building's final energy behaviour.
Once the talk ends, an inaugural event takes place at 1 p.m. attended by the Honourable Mayor of Llinars del Vallès, Martí Pujol, at which the benefits these buildings bring to the municipality and its surroundings will be set out. The event includes the presentation of the Municipis Passivhaus award.
The appointment is Saturday 19 March: at 11:00 a.m., visit and talk; at 1 p.m., inauguration and award presentation. It takes place in Llinars del Vallès, and the exact address is provided once registration is confirmed. The visit and the talk are free, but they require prior registration and places are limited. Places can be booked at papik.cat/inscripcio-xerrada.
A passive house is best understood while you can still see inside it, before the finishes hide what truly determines its performance.
